This place has great food, friendly service, and is very affordable. So glad we stopped in. Totally worth it. Garlic green beans were delicious as were vegetarian chow mein and fried bananas also had the schezuan tofu, really good.

Not good at all. It is for people who's never had real Chinese food before. The price isn't around the same as other Chinese restaurants in town but the quality of the food is not up to par. I had the chicken broccoli and shrimp wonton soup, both were disappointing. I don't recommend this as your last resort.

This is a great hole-in-the-wall that is easily missed when driving by. My friend brought me here as a farewell dinner before I moved to San Jose. The owner knew who he was as my friend eats there a lot and brought over complimentary fried wontons. It's nice to see owners appreciate their patrons.I ordered the combination chow fun. WOW, it was really good and not overly greasy like more places make it. We shared egg rolls and sesame balls. The egg rolls were perfectly fried and again, not too greasy. The sesame balls were a nice treat. They were on the sweet side so I left those for last as my dessert..Final Thoughts: A wonderful experience with great food at a wonderful price. I will remember Jim's for my go-to place for Chinese when I return home.

Jims goes without saying the best service in Seaside. I have been going there for years and I can be gone for months . I walk through the door and They always remember me. That is impressive. The food is fresh and the shop is clean. Happy to spend my money there

What a cute place and worth the drive if you are in the area. The service is with a smile and menu choices are awesome. Had a yummy chicken dish and the most amazing veggie lo main noodles. Spring roll was excellent as well as Crab Wonton, which a very nice lady there let me try for free....that's NEVER happend before at any asian place i've been too. This will become one of my favorite asian places! Can't wait to go back and try the BBQ Pork with Veggies...that looks great!

Ok, This place is perfect. People for get there Chinese and American Chinese. This food is more Chinese which makes it far better. The quality is great. I have been disappointed with MOST places in SEASIDE, MONTEREY, MARINA, etc. This place did not disappoint. Sesame Chicken was perfect. Sweet with a garlic after taste. Most places its just a cheap sweet sauce, this place absolutely have it right. My wife was ill, they recommend the hot and spicy soup... IT DID THE TRICK and she said it coated her throat and she felt better. Thats service.... Oh, I have traveled throughout the US and through the military all over Asia and they do it right!

I agree with everything said about the service. Ordering over the phone was easy, and quick. At the restaurant, people were friendly and they threw in a few extras. It started because Mr W had been sick and wanted wonton soup which was OK, but had chicken and shrimp which seemed odd.The Mapo Doufu was bland and not cooked correctly. What should have been tasty bits of pork blended in with the tofu was chunks of ground pork that had been cooked and thrown on top. No sight of scallions, no taste of ginger, and worst of all, no heat. There were whole red peppers and some flakes, but there was no spicey flavor.I expected the Mongolian beef to be a dry dish with beef, peppers and onions, and heat. No, it was mostly chunks of beef with onions, zucchini and carrots (?) and once again the whole red peppers did nothing to help the bland brown sauce.Bok choy needed more garlic, chicken and broccoli was passable.

This restaurant is one of the greatest Chinese restaurants i have ever eaten at! There is great food, nice people, and the restaurant has pictures of almost every food item (which is a PLUS), so it helps you decide what you would like to order. Also if you go to the restaurant late, passed their closed time, they will most likely let you come in and eat, which i think is awesome! There prices are also affortable and you EVEN get a great portion of food for it! So the next time you are in Seaside or Monterey, go and try Jim's Restaurant. You will most likely love it :)

Delicious Cantonese style food at budget prices. Especially good noodle dishes. A nice variety of tasty, hot congee ("jook," a rice porridge) in several different flavors.
